Bournemouth Transport Ltd trading as Yellow Buses is based on the South Coast in Bournemouth, where they provide a quality bus service across Bournemouth, Poole; Christchurch and into East Dorset.

Operating from a purpose built depot, the 135 strong fleet enjoys an unparalleled engineering base with modern state of the art workshops providing support 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

One of the area’s largest employers, Bournemouth Transport have over 350 driving staff in addition to operational, engineering, finance and administration personnel, the presence of their in-house accredited CPC Training Centre and the outstanding skills of their dedicated training staff ensure high standards of Customer Service.

Bespoke information at over 1000 stops marks Yellow Buses apart from other local operators, believing that simple, consistent branding offering up to date, easy to access information is the way to help grow the Public Transport market. Innovations include a custom journey planner which also offers fare information.

Yellow Buses place themselves firmly at the centre of the Communities they operate within; their innovative Carbon Stoppers promotion in its third year and has raised over £10k to date through weekly Thank You Thursday’s where every trip taken contributes towards a Community Chest distributed with the assistance of the local Daily Echo to charities, clubs and schools within their network area.

Yellow Buses has achieved a high quality bar across their services following regular passenger forums and using feedback from passengers, they look for innovative and practical ways to continue to improve the provision of passenger information; this pro-active approach has shown an increase year on year in passenger figures on core routes.

Andrew Smith

Managing Director of Bournemouth Transport Ltd

Andrew was appointed Managing Director of Bournemouth Transport Limited in February 2014.

Andrew joined Bournemouth Transport Limited as Finance Director in 2006 becoming Deputy Managing Director in 2013.

Andrew started his commercial accounting career in aerospace engineering, moving into retail before joining Hanson Aggregates Limited in 1992. Andrew was promoted to Divisional Finance Director in 2000.

Andrew is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and an Associate of the Chartered Management Institute.
