Yellows launch new 124 service
A NEW service is to be launched by Yellow Buses (YB) linking Purewell Medical Centre, Christchurch, the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Castlepoint shopping centre.
The Monday to Saturday service is a part-replacement for the 24 and 111 services which ended on August 6 after Dorset County Council’s withdrawal of funding.
The 124 is being run as a commercial service by Yellow Buses and will operate during the daytime, Mondays to Saturdays.
The first service from Purewell Medical Centre will start at 0925, arriving at Castlepoint at 0950, and then continue hourly until 1425.
The first 124 service from Castlepoint will be at 0955 and continue every hour until 1455. The last service from Castlepoint will terminate in Christchurch town centre.
Fiona Harwood, YB’s Marketing and Sales Manager, said: “This new service will allow our passengers in Christchurch and Purewell to access the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Castlepoint and the rest of our network.
“This initiative gives residents and visitors better access to employment, appointments and leisure. We will be assessing passenger numbers very closely over the coming months.”
The new 124 service is launched on Wednesday September 28. Full timetables can be found here
